Purdue Bell Tower // In Class Guidebook Entry

Standing at 160 feet tall, made of brick and 4 bells is the symbolic Purdue Bell Tower.

The bell tower has been on Purdue’s campus since 1895, it was actually burnt down just four short days after it was completed. It was then rebuilt 9 bricks higher than the first model.

When strolling through Purdue’s campus you will hear a boisterous ding about every 30 minutes from the bell tower. The bell tower is said to be one or Purdue’s most important landmarks.

People stop and take pictures here, there are even myths that say if you walk under the bell tower you will not graduate in 4 years.
