This author was very descriptive in the way they described things. Here are some of the ways I was able to picture these things.
“I begrudgingly rush over to my parents’ room for..” I honestly had to look the word “begrudgingly” up in the dictionary. This describes how they reluctantly got out of bed.
“Expand into an amoebic white cloud as I pour it into a bucket..” You can actually see the author in your mind doing the process of pouring it into the bucket.
“The smell of curry, thyme, and white pepper WAFTING…” They describe the smells of their breakfast pass through the air, the word “wafting” gives a sense that the smell is moving through out the air.
“Balancing a stack of newspaper on his head with a few stuffed underneath both armpits..” This sentence shows the hustle and bustle on their way to school, and get a sense of what it is like there.
“We run across, the street like Frogger characters..” I looked this up and it is a arcade game. This is a good comparison to show the scurry they are in during their snack time.
